The Vegas Golden Knights put together a strong march in March, going 11-3-1 in the year's third month. There were some bumps in the road, such as two losses where they allowed seven goals, but the team remains atop of the Pacific Division standings entering April.

March saw the VGK put together two four-game winning streaks and one three-game winning streak. On March 30th, the team clinched their fifth-ever trip to the Stanley Cup playoffs and are now just one point away from 100 on the season.

Reilly Smith

Although currently injured, Reilly Smith had an outstanding month of March. The winger tied a franchise record by going on a nine-game point streak from March 5th to March 21st. In that span, he scored four goals and seven assists for eleven points.

Smith has been a key part of the team's top six, most recently playing on a line with William Karlsson and Pavel Dorofeyev. Karlsson and Smith have had chemistry since day one of playing together with the VGK, and Smith's play has helped the rookie Dorofeyev develop into an offensive producer as well.

On March 23rd, Smith left a game against the Calgary Flames and did not return. He is now out with a lower-body injury but is skating and is expected to return soon. Smith's availability will be critical for the Golden Knight's push to the playoffs and in their first-round series.

March Stat Read: 15 GP 5-7-12 points, +5 rating, 1 GWG, nine-game point streak.

Highlight of the Month: Just another classic Karlsson-to-Smith connection.
