The Vegas Golden Knights held an extremely optional practice Wednesday morning at City National Arena, with Paul Cotter being the only player on the ice before the team decided to pack things up and cancel practice. They will now travel to San Jose to play the Sharks on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Head coach Bruce Cassidy was still available and stated the following on the status of defenseman Shea Theodore, who left the VGK's Tuesday night game against the Edmonton Oilers and did not return.

"He's not going to travel, so he will be day-to-day. Ben Hutton will go in, and we will have conversations with the Henderson staff. I know (Kaedan) Korczak got hurt there, so we will see," said Cassidy.

This season Theodore has 41 points in 55 games and has been a constant source of offense from the blue line for the Golden Knights. Theodore missed 20 straight games earlier in the season with a lower-body injury. The cause of this most recent injury is unknown.

Later on in the day the VGK recalled Brayden Pachal from the Henderson Silver Knights for reinforcements.
