The National Hockey League announced today that Fanatics will become the league's jersey and main apparel outfitter, replacing Adidas starting in the 2024-25 season. The deal between the NHL and Fanatics is a ten-year deal and marks the first time Fanatics will be on a professional sports team jersey.

“Fanatics is a sports industry market leader and with its proven track record in e-commerce and retail operations, licensed fan merchandise, and performance gear including the popular NHL replica jerseys and Authentic Pro performance and training products our players and fans should look forward to what Fanatics will bring to the best uniforms in all of sports," said NHL commissioner Gary Bettman.

When the Vegas Golden Knights entered the league in 2017-18, the NHL made their most recent jersey branding switch, going from Reebok to Adidas starting in the 2017-18 season. This switch came with some new jersey modifications that, for the most part, have gone unchanged in the six years since.

Adidas and the NHL also partnered up to create two lines of the popular "reverse retro" jerseys which gave the Golden Knights red and black jerseys. It's very likely that after next season, we will not see these jerseys worn again as the NHL's deal with Adidas will expire.

For Golden Knights fans, this agreement won't impact you until next season. If you're a casual fan, all that this means is that there will be a new logo on the Golden Knight's jerseys and possibly some slight jersey adjustments coming in 2024-25.

This switch could also lead to many Adidas NHL gear on sale in the near future. So watch out for that.
