The Vegas Golden Knights announced that they have recalled goaltender Michael Hutchinson from the Henderson Silver Knights of the AHL Monday afternoon. The news comes on the heels of goaltender Adin Hill missing practice Monday morning.

Head coach Bruce Cassidy stated that Hill was not present due to a "little bump" he had after his last game, a 5-4 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Cassidy alluded to the fact that current backup Laurent Brossoit would get the start Tuesday in Chicago.

"Adin (Hill) had a little bump from Saturday, so we will see. Our plan was to get (Laurent) Brossoit into a game this week. We were looking at tomorrow for everybody involved," said Cassidy.

The VGK are already without All-Star goalie Logan Thompson, who has missed the last three games with an upper-body injury and is considered week-to-week. Of course, starting goaltender Robin Lehner is out for the season with a hip injury.

In seven games with the Silver Knights this season, Hutchinson has a 2.74 GAA and a .897% save percentage. Hutchinson is a proven third-string goaltender with over 130 games of NHL experience.

Based on Cassidy's comments on Hill, it is likely that Hutchinson is just here to give the VGK a backup goaltender to Brossoit in their brief one-game road trip to Chicago on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

The best-case scenario for the VGK is that Hill, and maybe even Thompson will reunite with the team in Las Vegas ahead of Thursday's game against the Calgary Flames at 6:00 p.m.
