On Wednesday morning, the NHL announced the four head coaches that would coach each of the league's four divisions for NHL All-Star Weekend 2023. Vegas Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy has been named the head coach of the Pacific Division. He joins Jim Montgomery (Boston Bruins/Atlantic), Rod Brind A'Mour (Carolina Hurricanes/Metro.), and Peter DeBoer (Dallas Stars/Central) as coaches for the All-Star Game.

"It's always an honor. I think it's a team and staff award; I just get to go. I've been to one. I think it's fantastic for all the families and kids, especially if you have young kids that are around NHL players… That's the biggest takeaway from the event, and you get to meet some players outside that intense environment of hockey," said Cassidy after Golden Knights practice Wednesday.

Each year the NHL selects the four coaches from each division with the best point percentage to coach the All-Star Game at the halfway mark of the season, which gives us Cassidy, DeBoer, Montgomery, and Brind A'Mour this season. This is the 4th time a Golden Knights head coach has been named as the Pacific Division's head coach for the All-Star Game.

This will be Cassidy's second time coaching in the All-Star Game, as he previously coached the Atlantic as head coach of the Boston Bruins in 2020. He will join Golden Knights goaltender Logan Thompson on Feb 3rd and Feb 4th in Sunrise for All-Star Weekend.

The first 32 players, one for each team, have been named to the NHL-All-Star game, which leaves three open slots per division.

Hockey fans can vote for whichever player they choose on the NHL's official website or by Tweeting the player's name or profile followed by #NHLAllStarVote.
