Golden Knights Roundup: Alec Martinez Activated, Shea Theodore Placed On IR

Per the NHL's media site, the Vegas Golden Knights have placed star defensemen Shea Theodore on injured reserve and activated Alec Martinez.

Martinez has missed the last four games with a lower-body injury that he sustained blocking a shot against the Los Angeles Kings. He could return as soon as tonight's game against the Los Angeles Kings, according to the head coach Bruce Cassidy.

To free up a roster spot for Martinez, Theodore has been placed on IR. He has missed the last 12 games with a lower-body injury that he sustained against the Philadelphia Flyers on Dec. 9. Given that he has already missed more than 10 games, Theodore can return at any time based on the NHL's rules.

The Golden Knights are slowly starting to get healthier after they were missing nine roster players the other night against the Colorado Avalanche.

Both Paul Cotter and Jack Eichel returned against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and Martinez and Jonathan Marchessault could play tonight.
