It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

It is also beginning to look a lot like last season for the Vegas Golden Knights.

Last year the VGK had a strong start, then got hit with a ton of injuries. They went on to miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in franchise history last season as injuries followed them into the offseason. The VGK are now without Alex Pietrangelo, Jack Eichel, Shea Theodore, Brett Howden, and Zach Whitecloud for the foreseeable future.

Jokes about the "Vegas Silver Knights" are in full swing.

I will say while there are a ton of similarities to last season in terms of the injury narrative, this year's team feels a lot different. There was also the misleading schedule last season, with the VGK playing more games than most teams due to COVID delays. Without that this season, they still sit atop the Western Conference and Pacific Division Standings.

Tonight they start a two-game road tip in Winnipeg against the Jets at 5:00. Then Chicago, then home for the Holidays.

Vegas Golden Knights

Henderson: The Golden Knights have recalled Brayden Pachal, Kaedan Korczak, and Jonas Rondbjerg from the Henderson Silver Knights with their recent injuries. We project Rondbjerg to go in the lineup for Michael Amadio and Korczak to fill in the defense.
