Both the Vegas Golden Knights and Pittsburgh Penguins will be without their top Stanley Cup-winning defenseman Thursday night as the two teams face off against one another. With Pietrangelo out, the Golden Knights have made room for Daniil Miromanov and also traded a depth Henderson Silver Knights defenseman.

That and more on today's Golden Knights Wrap. Thank you all for staying patient with us as we have technical issues in our switch to a new platform.

Vegas Golden Knights

Vegas: Alex Pietrangelo is still in Las Vegas and will miss his second consecutive game Thursday against the Penguins due to personal reasons. Ben Hutton got the call-up last game, but it looks like the Golden Knights are examining all of their options as Daniil Miromanov has been recalled from the Henderson Silver Knights.

Miromanov is currently second on the Silver Knights in scoring, behind only Sheldon Rempal. He has six goals, seven assists, and 13 points in 17 games played. Last season, Miromanov played in eleven games with the Golden Knights.

Carolina: Speaking of the Silver Knights, the Golden Knights have traded AHL defenseman Zack Hayes to the Carolina Hurricanes for future considerations. The deal was likely made when both the Hurricanes and Golden Knights were in town to play the Penguins.

Hayes is an undrafted 23-year-old AHL depth defenseman who got into the VGK lineup thrice last season with injuries.

This trade frees up a roster spot for the Golden Knights, getting the team to 49/50 NHL contracts. This move could be a precursor to another Golden Knights transaction, perhaps something to do with Laurent Brossoit.

Pittsburgh: Another transaction between the Carolina Hurricanes and Vegas Golden Knights was made in Pittsburgh, where both teams stayed in the same hotel. As an avid French Toast fan, Derek Stepan wanted some for breakfast. But he found it wasn't being served at the Hurricanes' team meal. Stepan then snuck over to the Golden Knight's team breakfast and had some there.

NHL: Logan Thompson has been named the NHL's rookie of the month for November. In ten games, he had a record of 8-2 and a .288 goals-against-average and .909 save percentage.

Practice: The Golden Knights have been off for two days. After tonight's game against the Penguins, they will have a game every other day until Christmas Eve. Head coach Bruce Cassidy

"We needed it. It has been a pretty intense schedule. You want to button up on your details. You can go through video and talk about it, but sometimes you need to walk through it and practice it, especially with stuff in our own end reading the rush,” said Cassidy.

Clip of the Day: The Golden Knights enter Pittsburgh tonight to find the Penguins without their top defenseman, Kris Letang. On Wednesday, the three-time Stanley Cup Champion suffered his second stroke.
